The women of color period and fantasy icon list has grown to two hundred PBs! (Unless my counting's off. It has been before.) This is super exciting to me because in the nine (?!) years I've been running it, that number's gone down a few times as sites have gone down (RIP Hollow Art) and iconmakers have deleted. Hurrah for more people of color in period and fantasy over the years both in the media and, hopefully, in RP :D

This is kind of a silly subpost of the women of color period and fantasy icon list: Fairly often, I see people looking for female PBs in armor, or otherwise not wearing "pretty, pretty dresses" (actual quote from someone who was getting frustrated looking through period icon lists). So, people playing female warriors, knights, pages, period/fantasy tomboys, Dragon Age and Baldur's Gate protagonists, DnD characters, cowgirls (three!), etc of color, this is for you.

I haven't hosted on Photobucket in years, but I'm aware some posts linked from the period and fantasy POC icon lists do - I've cleared out links to posts where the icon maker hasn't stated intentions to reupload, as well as deleted posts, which don't get picked up by the automatic broken link checker I use. While I know there's a Chrome extension that lets you see Photobucket stuff, I also know not everyone uses Chrome, so that's why I'm only keeping posts with intentions to reupload.

A few years on from her role in Top of the Lake, Jacqueline Joe is sixteen. Not sure of her ethnicity: It's never been mentioned, both her parents and her grandparents looked Asian in a photo, her character in Top of the Lake was half Thai but her mom in The Cradle is played by a Chinese lady (and her father by a white guy), and she's costarring in a NZ-China coproduction.

She's my fancast for Cas Leung from The Abyss Surrounds Us and also Evvy Dingzai from Circle of Magic. But hell, I could see her as Cass Cain from DC Comics too.
